Hi Pegasusmagic, Yes I have been doing a lot with Mack. I have put the 'Hackamore' idea to bed for a while, I am concentrating on 'other' things at the moment. I have been doing most work on the ground with him and some in the saddle. So far he is good, just a bit lazy I reckon. I now have him yielding his hind quarters, trotting with no rein, going where I want. I have also worked him to one rein stop and a heap of other things. He is coming across very nicely. He still tries now and then to drop his head and kick up his bum, however I just ride him through that now. His flexibility is great, he now bends around and touches his nose just behind the girth when asked. This stops almost any idea of playing up. I've just got back from a two week trip to QLD, had to visit my girls. The boys stayed home with a friend. I am hanging out to see and work with Mack again.

Hi longrein, this is a mechanical hackamore and can be quite severe in the wrong hands , I used to use one of these on a horse I had many years ago who I bought out of a buckjump string when he was to be dogged because he didn't buck sucessfully enough. He had absolutely NO mouth but after a fair while in the hackamore I was eventually able to get him back into an ordinary snaffle and a bosal, he worked well in either and went on to play polocrosse and showjumpwith sucess.
